The Children's Play Area

Play area

Description

The toddlers' play area is surrounded by a hedge and is difficult to access with pushchairs, as the footpath ends at the entrance gate. The equipment is old fashioned and of limited play value.

The junior play area contains some play equipment that is outdated and requires replacing. Juniors often find the proximity to the teenage provision "intimidating".

Current condition

The play equipment is quite old and in need of updating and replacement. Parents are sometimes concerned that whilst supervising toddlers in the play area it is not always possible to watch older offspring using the junior play equipment.

Future Plans

Unsuitable equipment will be removed from the site and the remaining items relocated within a more defined area. New surfacing will provide links between pieces of equipment. The new layout will mean that there is improved supervision of play as parents/carers can supervise children in the toddler area whilst maintaining visual contact with children using the junior play equipment.
